Do tell. How does one do it?
We've had our (steel) boat for about 20 years. What I
do is to keep a rope off the ring at the centre of the
boat roof around a bollard. I'm on the lockside making
sure the boat doesn't swing about and bash any plastic
(or wooden) boat we may be sharing with. Not that we
share with plastic or wooden boats that frequently.
I'm not aware that we amend our paddle technique under
these circumstances. We might not whiz them up so
enthusiastically if paired with plastic or wood, perhaps.
