The beauty of the canals is that you can do them at your own pace. We live on
our boat so can travel slowly and look at the wider corridor. We see a lot of
men standing on the backs of boats whilst women do the hard work of the locks
and some look absolutely exhausted. Not my idea of a holiday but each to
his/her own.
