Its the concept that throwing things into the canal is OK it is not. CKP

Coconuts are biodegradable and not likely to get stuck on your prop, unlike 
the mattresses, rolls of carpet and the like that our dear English brethren 
feel constrained to donate to the canals. I feel sorry for people who have 
to make do with the Grand Union canal in place of the mighty Ganges!
