Far be it for me to disagree with a fellow Fairhurst (there's not that many of 
us about - 
well, not round here anyway), but the two forums are very different.

Canalworld is a fairly earthy, practical forum and does pretty well in that 
regard. However 
it has approximately 0.002 lines per day of sensible commentary on the future 
direction of 
the waterways, which is where this list currently excels. If you were to try to 
have this 
funding discussion on Canalworld - and you're welcome to try - I can guarantee 
it would 
soon get sidetracked into name-calling and arguments about continuous cruisers.

If you think Canalworld is more interesting than canals-list, well, the obvious 
answer is to 
read the former and unsubscribe from the latter. Personally I enjoy both (and 
urw) and 
don't take either too seriously!
