We see more and more cans on the cut. Mostly on the boats that moor with 
live-ons in the same place for long periods. What is in the can we don't know 
but many seen to store water too - in clearish plastic containers.

I never thought of running out of engine fuel as very likely on a
typical narrowboat, but having not (yet) been a boat owner, perhaps
I'm wrong about this. Or maybe there are other uses for jerry cans
aboard?
