I'd check with the LPA before you make the tidal trip. When we went from Limehouse upriver in Sept/06, the regs were already in place, although with a grace period which I think expired in April/07 for all craft navigating the river to be equipped with VHF. While this might be standard equipment for a narrowboat which frequents the river and other tidal venues, it might not be on a boat from more northerly, less tidal areas. I might be in error, but a quick check now on the website might save an embarrassment later!
