Having walked from Trent Junction along the Erewash Canal up to the M1 overbridge some years ago, it strikes me that I don't remember any places that would be suitable for an overnight stop. We're just a fortnight away from taking Silkwood around the Leicester Ring and if time and weather allows, we're considering a trip up the Erewash and back as well.
Could somebody with knowledge of this canal suggest suitable spots. In particular, is there anywhere near Ilkeston (just in case we happen to be in that area on the same night as Leicester City are playing a pre-season friendly there)? -- Bob
