Many of the Brindley throwers on the T&M (of which their are 4 on the Skoke 
side and lots down to Middlewich the other side) have had hold back bollards 
for years. Only trouble is the water can get so turbulant and the pull so 
strong that it can saw through your rope on the rough lock edges in a few 
locks. It's done it to us in the past.

In a 70ft boat (and not just Fulbourne) I've found that some of
those on T&M are the worst. Throw you back, then pull you
forward, even if you open them fairly gently.
