ROTFL. 1. Without manning at each reader, there would be abuse (mud on the barcode, etc...) 2. How do you power the readers - to charge by the mile you need a reader each mile. 3. Who will pay for all the readers? *If* the locks were electric powered then you could do it by a card key system on operation, but the initial cost will stop that.
