Thanks *all* for comments, it's not that easy trying to marry up a Canalplan 
printout  (names all come from Nick's Canalplan) in one window (as PDF) with 
Google Earth in another, Streetmap in a third (and then having the list of 
symbols in a forth and my Excel sheet of the data in the fifth window! - I 
could do with one of those giant monitors...).  Sometime GE or SM has a road 
name that agrees with canalplan, sometimes not - some bridges seem to vanish 
(trees are a pain, and so are *new* roads).  If I included *all* the bridges 
it would be (a bit) easier, but then too bl**dy long! so only A roads, 
railways, and a few B roads made it to the final version
Anyway looks like my dark blue just to the marina is a reasonable view. 
I'll now try to fit in the other comments.
