Funny, we had a lot of these on our way up from Watford to Cowroast on
Saturday... I assumed it was some single-hander in a hurry going up
ahead of us and deliberately leaving all the top gates open.    :-(

Re stove problems:   in "Dane" the stove usually just goes out overnight
in order to save coal.   Not a problem until you need to get up in the
morning, at which point you need to brace yourself and exit the blankets
pretty sharpish!
