<On Topic> But the line was originally built (by Brunel to 7 ft gauge) to connect the Great Western mainline to the Thames, with Brentford Dock constructed to provide for interchange between boats and trains. In the 70s the warehouses around the dock were replaced with blocks of flats and the dock was converted into Brentford Dock Marina. </On Topic> David Mack
