I have the forerunner to this - just the tub no spinner.  I'd say go for it, it 
is economical as it only agitates, you put the water in at the required temp.  
I wash warm lightly soiled things then add hotter water and more detergent and 
wash the dark things.  If it ever expires I'll get the twin job.
