Personally, there's only one of those I shall regret, frankly, and
we'll do the scenic bits of that by hire boat one of these days.
Sheila and I saw quite enough of the West Riding in our early years
to have much desire to explore them by boat ;-}}}
On the wider issue, I reckon the point about running costs is a good
one - there are still plenty of cheap boats in the comics every week
- Harefield has a Norman 23 footer for less than 5k, for example.
It's the licence and insurance that's the killer, not the BSC. £100
every four years isn't exactly a lot on top of the rest.
