I urge you to put pressure on DEFRA to stop the selling off of BW assets . Indeed I urge you to put pressure on the government to realise the inportance of the waterways as a national treasure , to be preserved for all time

In the first box I wrote: Stop DEFRA from selling off the Assets of British Waterways. In the second box I wrote: It is vitally important. Defra have already made swinging cuts in this direction. The canal system is collapsing due to lack of maintenance. There have been 3 or 4 breaches and and A (BANK) landslide due to maintenance deficiies. If BW assets are sold off, (Producing about £5 million once for the Gov't), it cuts off another VITALLY IMPORTANT, avenue for BW to finance their operation I mention this as a guide. I am sure that each and every one of you can think of something important to say. The more people that request looking into this will make this subject an important one.
