Possibly, but fortunately the XF was just after my time. I was involved in getting OBD (On Board Diagnostics) VCA (Vehicle Certification Authority) certification for the 2.0 diesel X Type and the 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo Diesel in the S Type. Just before I left I was leading a small team of engineers who were overseeing the development of the EMS (Engine Management System) software by Siemens for all the applications of the 2.7 diesel. The Drive by Wire throttle team were a completely separate, in-house, section as it was so specialised. I suspect that, like most of private industry, the teams are being reduced in size and expected to produce so much more work that things are difficult (to put it mildly). Overload and associated stress levels were what caused me to leave but, fortunately, I had the means to be able to retire instead of looking for another job. Roger
