>Steve But they got more chance to drive on roads (as they had more cars), produced more rubbish for landfill (which the EU charges Landfill Tax for) and given that there were more of them clearly absorbed more local services. Taxing property bears no relation to income so are you seriously suggesting that widows and widowers should be forced out of their homes because they're using housing space that could be better used by families.
