The only possibility is an angled "Plough" similar in shape to the road vehicles, fitted in front of a boat to break up the ice BEFORE the bow of the boat reaches it. This doesn't seem practical, on Price or Fitting, especially as GB suffers only for a few days and at worse about two weeks or more on the odd occasion! ~Allan~
