Actually as far as I could tell from last year very little damage was
done to the blacking along the side of Victoria as we pushed through
40 odd miles of ice. Yes the blacking was removed from the bow area,
but I don't think passing moored boats damages the blacking on them
(though it may remove already lose bits).

If this ice keeps up I'll let you know how a new blacking copes with the ice!
