Michael - I am not over familiar with this canal, nor have I double
checked your 12.1/2 hour estimate.

That period in the summer should not be ultra busy unless it clashes
with some Eistedfodd (SP!)-like event at Llangollen. If there is a
clash that could be pretty grim, or it might just mean that the
Terminus itself will be busy but everybody not at the event will be 2
counties away.

I assume you pick up the boat late 21st. Your outbound trip will be
against the flow and my usual strategy for such a trip would be to
have a relatively heavy day on 22nd, getting all the way to
Llangollen. You can then relax in the town in the evening and follow
up with a leisurely morning 23rd, departing with the intent of getting
3 hours or so done later that day. Then you also have some slack in
case of traffic on 24th, assuming you'll need to be back at base
fairly early 25th.

Others will be able to give better guidance than I concerning where to
schedule overnights on 23rd & 24th

Enjoy the trip,

Cap'n Beeky
