We (Wood Hall & Heward) pumped up a narrowboat called Sherwood today just below
Picketts Lock on the River Lee, the water was halfway up the windows, it was
caused by a weed hatch being fitted the wrong way round and fouling the front
of the integral fuel tank. The restraing bar had been re-fitted but the lid was
up 3/4inch at the rear, from the front it looked OK. The boater said he had
been down the weedhatch at Enfield (2 locks north).
I hope that this will be of some use to you all out there, it might be worth a
check on your hatch to see if it could happen to you.
Must go now, got to fill all the pumps and head to the next one at Bow Locks.
