The tale from our local BW manager is that the intention is to open the canal (can't remember if it's Barge or Junction) from the Severn to Droitwich as soon as possible. This (I quote from a meeting on 24 Feb) was to be "in time for the summer" but there were a few snagging issues to be resolved. I wouldn't bank on an Easter opening unless anyone has more recent news. There is a short missing link of the Salwarpe to be restored before full passage to Hanbury can be achieved. This should have been done on the back of a housing development but that went t*ts up. There is no scheduled time for completing this that I know of. Wassail! -- Martin Phillips [email protected]
