In the dim past, many of you contributed posts to the canals list for
inclusion on the page "Favourite Sections of Canals" at:
www.canals.com/favorite.htm
(Sorry for the missing "u" in "favorite" - a vestige of the early days
of my web site when microsoft restricted filenames to 8 characters
before the dot.)
However, these comments, most made in December 1999, seem like ancient
history. Many may still be reasonably accurate, but the fact that they
are now more than TEN years old can lead a reader to wonder. Also, a
number of cruising areas have newly opened since 1999, or have become
more accessible. And, for the original contributors, many have
probably cruised in many more places since 1999. So--
I'd like to get updates for that web page.
Both brand-new contributions, or revisions of your original contribution,
are welcome.
My inclination is to REMOVE all 1999 contributions that are not
re-affirmed, and store them in my historical achive.
For those whose comments appear on the current version of the web page:
- if you still completely stand by your existing comments, just say so
and I will update the date to the current date
- if you changed your mind to some degree, just edit your old contribtion
or submit a completely new one.
Unless there is significant opposition, I think posts should (as in 1999)
be made to the canals list, so that we have give and take on the
suggestions (all of which I will try to incorporate on the new web page).
I'm hoping for a lot of contributions. I think many people have found them
useful, but they now do need freshening up.
