Nantwich Canal Centre (Ian) came a calling on UM today.Very thorough analysis and diagnosis.
Replaced washers on injector pump bleeds, by passed original JP3 decorative filter housing, refitted lift pump upstream of filter (instead of downstream, fitted non standard but effective O-ring to fuel filter bolt, tinkered with every fuel line joint & component, filled with 200L diesel (confirming we were between 1/3 & 1/2 full as expected). After the slightest palpitations of the Lister kind around the marina the engine seemed in good order. A test run of about 90 minutes all in good fettle. We MUST NOT assume things are resolved but the portents are good. We do still need a day tank so that the upstream fuel flow is a less likely source of air ingress. We now consider our options.
