My "rule of thumb" calculator, which is usually fairly accurate, 
indicates that the domestic rate of the fuel you purchased was actually 
around 87p / litre. Ouch.

I use domestic rate +43p for propulsion rate, so I work it out as (at 
71p)     96.53x80%=77.2 litres at 71p       =£53.25
                                                                                
                                       
96.53x20%=19.3 litres at (71+43) =£22

                                                                                
                           
A total of £75.25 give or take the odd 20p
