It didn't happen because of the heavy icing on the K&A and subsequent 
dangerous working conditions - I'm not sure we can blame BW for this one 
as I understand that they still did a lot of work on the gates and pounds.

The K&A suffered a bit last year with gates being damaged by boats 
passing through - or trying to; at least one gate was apparently lifted 
and needed 're-seating', or what ever it is called, and I saw one at 
Hungerford which had been ripped out at the hinge (and was completely 
repaired within a day or so, including re-concreting the upper hinge strap).

It wasn't *me* either .. lol .. despite my stay on the K&A in order to 
get the hang of these 'nb' things!!
