Your in the right area but I think this is a box boat on the M&BB in 
Bury by the paper works, which was supplied from the colliery in 
Radcliffe, still functioning in the early sixties and still just laid up 
till the early seventies.
This end basin has now been demolished.
What the boat in the background is I have no memory of, and I agree it 
looks like the milton queen, but it can't be as I'm fairly certain about 
the location.

I know what it might be there was a strange Ice breaker kept at Bury, is 
it that? Did that not go to the Boat museum?

By the way the Runcorn locks picture is just below the second lock down 
not the top lock, where the old and new lines meet again before going 
there separate ways. Someone has been there before you
