Arriving at our Marina I note the guy with boat matched everything has brought his third boat in not that many years. This one costs way more than £100,000 so whatever he does pays well. Wonder if it will be taken out more than the last ones which were used mostly for static camping. The one time we met them out (not far from base) the lady owner/lockwheeler lectured my (gobsmacked) wife as she maintained the wife had wound against them. She arrived at the lock to do this after we had gone down in the lock as it was near ready for us when we arrived and her boat was still coming out of a bridge 500yds away - it made a nice wash coming up the straight as she penned me through the wife said. The wife realised who the one in designer lock gear with widlass hanging from holster was and said nowt.

To: "canals list" <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, 11 August, 2010, 9:45 I was at the boatyard at the weekend discussing the new paint scheme for my boat (grey and white Leonard Leigh-style tug paint job). I asked in the office how business was going. They were at that moment involved with fifteen boat sales. The painter, who theoretically works a two-day week, hadn't had a day off in four weeks and is completely snowed under with work. I walked up the locks and up to the mouth of Braunston tunnel. The canal was very busy with both hire and private boats. Dave [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
