Dear All,

I think one of the reasons for the present situation is that hospital software
needs quite heavy
customization on local requirements. During the past 5 years I have seen many
active people
here and then the dissappear. I think many put their resources and time to work
on their local
version like we have done and little is left for the main branch. Hospital
software is not like
"packet softwares" where interests are commonly shared and it is easy to build
a big user
and beneficiaries group. This software tends to fork out to different versions.

I think response to Claudios mail gives a hint how many are active on this main
branch or
follow the discussion on this list. I would be interested to know how many
Care2x
systems are used in real hospitals. Our East African version is implemented in
4 hospitals
and can be expanded to many more as MOH is starting to demand more reliable and
transparen reporting. The main issue here is not the software itself but the
slow
implementation prosess.
