Hello,

I see you are running Mac OSX 10.3.9 and that is likely the problem. On our Mac used for Caret development, the only two SDKs (software development kits) are for OSX 10.4 and OSX 10.5. We use the 10.4 SDK so that Caret will run on OSX 10.4 and later operating systems. Apple never guarantees backwards compatibility. If you upgrade your operating system, that will likely fix the problem.

Hi Dr. Harwell,

The mac version is 10.3.9.

It is the drop-down option to "look into file" or to "select a particular file type", etc. So it's not the menu ...but let's say I have to open the spec file and then I try to browse that's when it gives me a wait sign and crashes. The error message if I run caret5 on command line is

./caret5:line8: 512 Bus error $directory/../macosx_apps/caret5.app/ Contents/MacOS/caret5 $*

Thanks for your help!
Manish

Hello,

What do you mean by "drop down option"? Do you mean the menus?
Please be specific.

Which version of OSX are you running (10.?.?, select Apple Menu-
