Another update: I have posted the first pass at an ldaptive-based LPPE here: https://github.com/Jasig/cas/pull/256
The pull is targeted to the authn api branch Jérôme and Marvin have begun to review. I am hoping that we can address and account for the feedback and merge by end of this week. Also the checkstyle changes are also finalized into master now and once LPPE is in good shape, we can bring the authn api branch up to speed by merging with master once and have the branch be compliant with the CS build.
