There must be more log entries, perhaps in other logs, that contain
more info about the problem.  That line stating "Context [/cas]
startup failed" indicates there was a problem.  Which log did you pull
these lines from?  Based on my tomcat logs directory, the ones that
might have more useful information are:

catalina.out
catalina.<date>.log (e.g., catalina.2014-12-19.log)
localhost.<date>.log (e.g., localhost.2014-12-19.log)

If "Error filterStart" is all you have, maybe that's a clue -- but I
don't know what it means.
