I'm getting ready to replace the cutlass bearing and building a tool to get the
old one out. I've got the option of using the typical brass shelled type
which is what is firmly stuck in there or one of the new composite types.
There was an article in one of the sailing mags about replacing the bearing and
they were pretty keen on using the new composite type. Has anybody used one
that type? And I've spent 2 days in the freezing cold under the boat with a
light scraping bottom paint of the strut and I'll be darned if I can find a
set screw. Anybody know if the C27 has set screws in the strut to hold in the
bearing? Hat to be freezing my a___ off looking for something that don't exist.
