I think the answer is in your own posting. You've shown a deep personal concern
on several issues.
Go with your Gut feelings, Man !

I will assume that you've been thinking of this for a while and that it's not
the result of a bad day at the office or home.
As the old song goes, "There's trouble right here in River City".
The reality of boat owning is obviously beginning to weigh. And it's a negative.
Unless there is something much more positive going on.. You've already made
the decision.
And, contrary to most postings here, I think you should be congratulated !

If something is "Eating " into your life, TRYING to make it work, is awful. It
Not only affects you, but others around you.

Like holding on to a Bad Marriage ..because it Might get Better.. or " For the
sake of the kids"..
.Holding on to a financial and personal Burden because .. ......You might "feel
better" about it later..
......Or... Your child..MIGHT .. become an America's Cup Skipper..

Is,, In MY humble opinion.... BULL PUCKY !!!

Life is much too short to live with pain..
The financial "Pain"
And for damn sure..
The concern for/and about the family.

Take you own advice...

Sell the boat
Enjoy the family
Play with the baby ,,On the grass.
Save the money
And..... If you (AND the family) are so inclined, later, Buy a bigger and
better boat..

If you really Can't stand the idea of not sailing.
Take the time to...
Read about it..with the family. Read about sailing to the kid.
Talk about it at home..
Walk the docks with the family.. Shopping for a Dream . "Our new boat"..
Make it a Dream for all of the family...

Then you'll know..

UW.... "I wish you a pleasant voyage" (International Code of Siganls)
