Can't be a lot of help but my cousin had a Hunter docked at South Shore for many years. Awesome facility!!! What I can remember from the times I would go sailing with them is that it was a long trip motoring out of Clear Lake to the Bay (past Kemah). I don't recall what their draft was (I think almost 5') but they would never venture out of the channel in Clear Lake -- wouldn't even attempt to sail it just motor. Even in the bay it seemed shallow most of the time (except the shipping channel).

The last trip I went with them we sailed from South Shore Marina down to Galveston. Stayed at the Moody Gardens docks and then came home -- what a wonderful weekend trip!

Your sailing season is great -- pretty much all year!
