I'm confused, Bob. Raw water pump has nothing to do with anti freeze. My
Oberdorfer raw water pump (M-18) started leaking last month as we were getting
ready for our fall cruise. Pressed for time, I just ordered a new one from
Featherman Enterprises. Two days later, it was on my doorstep for a total
price of $203.31. The new pump has an "O" ring on the cover instead of that
stupid little paper gasket that never wants to seal right.

Part # N202M-15 The N at the front of the # means it has the O ring.
Featherman has lots of Universal parts at reasonable prices.

  Listees,

I need to repair my raw water pump on my 1984 - Universal M-18 Oberdoeffer
pump. I would like to have it rebuilt during the winter months. If I remove it
and maybe cover the area where the pump fits with a rag, could I be exposing
the engine to damage from freezing?

The anti freeze in the pump will run out so I can't see how I would harm the
engine, but I just want to check.
