Water cooled version no longer made.I had it overhauled April 2004 while on the hard. Water leak turned out to be a crack in the cylinder water jacket. Crack was welded. Cyl was pressure tested and rebored and EVERYTHING was replaced, Alternator-- starter-valves--piston--bearings--hoses--filters--etc--etc. Parts $1025 Labor $1800 Sales tax $160 Total $2975. Removing and reinstalling the engine and complete new wiring and additioal in line diesel filters $1200 Grand total $4200 It runs great. On mine when you turn key on it's glow plug, I wait 1 minute and it starts instantly. A tank full of diesel fuel will last a couple of years. My Marine dealer, where it's Winter stored, removed it. They disconnected everything and slid it forward on a plywood board and crane lifted it out the cabin hatchway. While the engine cave was empty I degreased and cleaned it. I sound insullated the inside walls,access panels,ceiling, and door with 1 inch foam heat shield. $200 for 9 feet and roll of tape It is VERY quiet topside. I had them load it into the trunk of my Taurus and I took it to an Industrial deisel in town. They did the overhaul. They still make Lister-Petter Air Cooled engines I think the engine might only weigh 150 to 200 lbs ?? I am very happy with the way it performs but I wish I would have repowered with at least 13 hp. This 6 hp just doesn't do it. Heavy seas and heading in with 4 people is not comfortable. I single hand 98 % of the time and it's fine. In hindsight I think I could have moved up to 13 -- 16 hp for about $2000-$2500 more.
