Thanks Mark. Oh yeah, I'm all over those Bluto shots, thanks ChrisD. I'm still trying to figure out the ownership relationship. The check came from FL, the boat is registered in FL, but Ben Hall (Hall Spars) campaigned the boat all summer up at Bristol RI (Bristol YC). The boat is registered for KWRW under the name of the guy who wrote the check. SO maybe they share it, I dunno. I'd love to have a pardner in a boat like Ben Hall.
As another former E 32-2 owner said to me yesterday, in re: the boats second pace standing in its class at KWRW, "amazing what you can to do to upgrade a boat when it's in the backyard of your workplace." No question, the boat looks great with a BUNCH of upgrades. I dont know if that mast is carbon, doesn't look like it but obviously Hall Spars is at the forefront in terms of high-tech spars in high budget campaigns. For people who aren't familiar with Ben Hall, he is also a National Champion in A Class cats (high performance solo catarmarans). I know from another ex-Mudhead that Ben spent significant amounts of time sailing with Bob Evelyn back in the Evelyn hay-days. So, anyway, long story short, I'm glad the boat went to someone who has the time and resources to bring her back to bristol trim and race well with her in seriously competitive venues. Oh, btw, one of Bluto's main competitors at Bristol YC is Eric Goetz...the boat has gone to rockstar heaven! tf
