You're right, Tim--and the interior is cavelike. Now I recall what it reminds me of--an igloo I visited up in Banff one winter. No 'light' but everything was bright white inside. And, for all that white, which is supposed to make things look bigger, this boat just seems a lot smaller than the Island Packet 38 I just visited.
This is indeed a huge cockpit, too--can't possible fit into the ORC cockpit limits, but then again, this isn't an offshore boat by a long stretch! Sure would be fun to go fast in a sheltered area, though...
