Thanks Ralph, but I'm talking about Wyliecats. "Rage" is one heckuva sled, but has a traditional (e.g., stayed) rig. I'm talking about the unstayed carbon masted catboats that Wylie designed for the smaller boats....well, if you call the cat-ketch rigged
65 a smaller boat.

The original rub was: would the unstayed carbo mast stand up offshore...but Bruce Schwab, having taken Ocean Planet around the world (twice?) put an end to that discussion. That mast isn't going anywhere unless you scrape it on the bottom...

If I remember correctly "Rage" was purpose-built to take line honors for the Transpac.

Once again you have awakened the Fat Old Man from the Portland Oregon area..

Yep, you're right...
It's called "RAGE" .. and it's a Wylie designed boat..Built here in Portland by Schooner Creek. A look at this link will show several Wylie/Schooner Creek construction.. Including " Ocean Planet" the Open 60 that Bruce Schwab sailed.

See: http://www.schoonercreek.com/new_const/modern_sail/modern_sail.htm
