Russ, I have a 3800 PSI Delta (brand) washer. I bought it cheap from someone who needed some cash in a hurry. I think it sells for around $900 if you buy it retail. It is a little "overkill" for the boat but you'll find there are a thousand things you can use it for around the house and beyond! If you decide to invest in a p-washer, don't scrimp. You'll find the small ones available at places like Pep Boys and Wal-Mart are not much better than a good nozzle on the garden hose. Besides some good deals can be found at your local pawn shop! As far as bug goo on the boat (we have ducks and a "construction zone" in New Orleans, so our boats are always "dirty"), a good wax job makes it a lot easier to remove and if you leave your boat for long periods, you can do what the "truckers" do. Spray down the deck with cheap dishwashing liquid in a garden sprayer and let it dry. When you get back, just hose it down and it's clean as a whistle!

I've been told the black residue that collects on our decks is from the spiders. A good brush with a long handle and Soft Scrub does a good job but is very labor intensive for us old geezers to say nothing of the back pain so I was wondering if the use of a power washer is recommended to remove that annoying black stuff, and if so which ones do the members use? What size is adequate without being expensive overkill? Bugged in Oklahoma....... Change your thinking, change your life.
