Stumbled across? I think not!!!

As you most assuredly know, doing your own build/design opens up a pandora's box of ideas, instruction, knowledge, quest for data, and frustration.

One starts in the flat, open country of a learning curve and begins the project (ordeal) in the low-lying foothills by beginning a dialogue with a bunches of other people who may have done something like this before, or have specialized knowledge from other, not-dissimilar projects. The foil section discussion is a perfect example. Having a sailing buddy with whom you've put in a lot of miles and lots of ups and downs in various racing programs, who just happens to work in the aeronautics industry, is a huge plus with a project like this.

I am talking about our own "Carl of Cadence," ex-C27 owner and keeper of the highly regarded Catalina Owners webpage (until his boat was rendered a total loss by H. Isabel).

I mean, I'm not plodding into this alone and unchaperoned, as, knowing my many, profound limitations, that would doom the proj. from its infancy.

Your faithful student,

Seriously—that’s a pretty comprehensive website you *stumbled across*. Thanks for sharing.
