OK, after a great day sailing yesterday I was browsing Craigslist just to see what is available and stumbled across this!
http://baltimore.craigslist.org/boa/822194540.html Just what every Catalina owner needs. I also have to fess up to my own version of Dumb and Lucky. I was sailing July 26th with the wife. When it came time to return for the day I lowered the engine but all it would do was turn over. I tried several times but nothing, not even a pop. My heart was low I considered calling TowBoatUS to use my high end towing, but figured hey this IS a sailboat so I sailed her in. For the next 5 weeks I worried about what this would cost to have repaired while I visited my daughter in Boston area when she was moving her family AND having my second granddaughter. The wife and I had a ball with the 22 month old granddaughter and were delighted with the birth of our newest granddaughter. But still the 9.9 Honda nagged me. One night I had a dream, the kind you wake up from and think about it. the dream said the engine's problem was the kill switch's clip had come out. Could I be so lucky? Sunday was my first chance to go to the boat and investigate the engine's problems and there below the control console where I put the key was the kill switch's clip! I replaced it and inserted the key and the engine sprang to life! So my question is how come my dreams of a Hinckley or a new Catalina 42 haven't come true?
