Kevin I had a 9.9 2 stroke whe3n I bought my Catalina 27. it seemed to develop enough torque when I needed it. Especially at the low end. I opted for a 15 hp four stroke and have been very happy. Plenty of low end torque for the delicate docking maneuvers and I can get 6 plus knot when I want to motor any destination on the Lake.
