Friends,

Transitions. They moved Adam back to Shock Trauma this morning. He
remains in critical but stable condition. They are now feeding him 2,400
calories
a day through his feeding tube and will be increasing it to about 3,300
calories. It has been confirmed that his digestive system is fully
functioning.
This will help the healing process.

The Nurse Practitioner in Shock Trauma said Adam is exactly where they wanted
him to be.

They will be doing a CATscan tonight because of two things. First, when
they did the surgery on Adam's aorta they had to lay him on his side...the side
of his broken ribs. There is a blood clot that has formed and they want to
make sure it will not interfere with taking Adam off the ventilator (probably
in
two days...this seems to be a perpetual two days) otherwise they are not
worried about it.

Also, Adam is running a slight fever and they are checking to see if any
infections have occurred. If so, they will treat with medicine, drain tube,
or
surgery.

They will also be taking him off the current sedative because it bonds to fat
cells and after two weeks it makes it more difficult to regulate how it works
because of the build up in the body. It has been used because it takes
effect quickly and when you stop it the patient wakes up immediately. The
medicines they will replace it with will take longer to take effect and longer
to
dissipate.

So, progress...slow but progress. As we get into these slower days I will
probably be updating every other day. They keep saying, he is young and we
have a long road but he should be fine.

Please continue to pray
     • He will not develop any infections and if he has some that they are
easily treatable.
     • His body continue to grow stronger
     • For God's blessing on the nurses, technicians, and doctors

I am amazed at how God designed the body to not just heal but that it is so
well designed that people can study it, cut it open, fix it, close it up, and
the person can recover.

Thank you for your prayers!
Dave, Lisa, and family

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
       your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Psalm 139-13-15
