Dear Friends:

A bit of a mixed bag kind of day...mostly good, though. Adam's heart rate
was a bit high. They believe this is from the trauma he experienced. His
heart is sending blood to the organs to speed up the repair plus he is probably
feeling more pain.

His oxygen dropped suddenly (not critically) this morning and they had to
increase the pressure of the ventilator. This could be caused by a variety of
things. They have started to treat him for pneumonia as a precaution.

They have increased the amount of food to his stomach. His stomach has
handled everything they have given it so far. That has been true of him for
19
years now anyway...so that is good to hear. They say his stomach and
intestines are active in their sounds which is a good sign because they were
quiet up
until now.

They may move him back to Shock Trauma tomorrow from the Cardiac Unit

Keep praying for
     • no infections, no pneumonia
     • increase in oxygen levels
     • successful weaning from ventilator
     • Adam's peace
     • the medical staff's discernment
     • God to touch lives through this experience

Below is the same verse from yesterday's e-mail. I sent it because of the
reference to God's breathing into Adam's nostrils...which adam is the Hebrew
word for man. We pray God will breathe anew in our Adam's life physically and
for all of us spiritually.

The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life...          Genesis 1:7 (NIV)
