For all you folks in the Chesapeake world.

The Image of the day in the MODIS photo page .....is of YOUR part of the world
.. In autumn colors.
The whole place in Orange and Browns.
Taken Thursday.

Also the First Snow in the Northeast is shown in another frame.

To see any photo in closer detail, click on the photo and select the size you
wish. 250 meters per pixel is best.. But is a large file
You'll be able to "zoom" on the photo once on your screen.

If you're not familiar with the MODIS space photos.. You can see shots of
selected places in the world. Usually a day or two old...
OR
You can TEXT in a KEYWORD of an area, in the box next to the "Image of the Day"
Or....
You can go to the Archives (click on GALLERY) Then Scroll to the make a
selection of a particular DAY. (hurricanes..etc).

You can also see the Photo strips covering large areas of the world.. "REAL
TIME"...They do them every constantly.
Some are not too sharp.. I guess you're seeing unprocessed shots.

Most of the shots on the main page are of some kind of Earth "problem or novel
image" of TODAY
 Kinda cool

Enjoy!
