Dear Friends.
The last couple of days have been horrible. I will try to send an
expanded update later but wanted to encourage you to continue your
prayer for Adam.
Adam was transferred to a rehab center, we were not happy with
medical services there, Adam ended up vomiting and aspirating the
vomit (even though we repeatedly said this was a real danger with
Adam) and then Adam was rushed back to Shock Trauma.
Here he is stable but in critical condition. They have run a
variety of scans and all come back normal; however, his white blood
cell count is very, very high. All blood cultures show no infection.
There is a slight risk his graft has an infection which is hard to
detect but they feel something should have showed up. They have
placed him on antibiotics and allowing him to rest. He looks much
better than he did yesterday.
He is having trouble hyperventilating even while sleeping so
something is happening but we do not know what it is.
Please pray
• for the doctors' discernment...if it is something that
needs treating that they find it quickly and treat it effectively
• for no infections to develop and that the aorta graft,
especially, stays infection free
• Adam's body will grow strong
• that no matter what happens we will honor God, reflect the
presence of Christ, and demonstrate the controlling influence of the
Holy Spirit.
So, we think we have taken a week-long step backward. Now for a
few steps forward!
Dave and Lisa
