I am very sorry to hear this. There is a condition called aspiration pneumonia that arises from the events you describe. It can be very serious, so we can only pray. It is times like these when a family does well to take turns staying with the patient 24/7. Modern medicine unfortunately seems to need an advocate for the patient, to get the right amount of attention paid. --Dave S.
