John,
I had Dan Calore at North Sails Direct (formerly Cruising Direct) build a main and a 130 for my CAL 22. Did a great job at a very reasonable price and on time. I talked with him about sails for a Catalina 27. He knows the Catalina 27 well. Had my 27 not had almost-new Hood Vectrons when I bought her this summer, I would have had him build me a new set. Two local companies that I am considering are Ullman/Skelley, Havre de Grace, MD and North Sails, Annapolis, MD. I was not pleased with the quality of work done by UKHalsey, Annapolis, MD last year when they cleaned and repaired a sail. I used Scott Sailmakers, Annapolis, MD about six years ago to make the main. I have been satisfied with their product but they were not dependable and did not deliver it when promised. They also may be out of business. Any thoughts, experiences, recommendations, etc would be appreciated.
